Sukabumi Regions

With a height of 600 meters from above sea level, Sukabumi is cool enough and comfortable. The beauty of garden contribute to this city’s beauty. The city of Sukabumi, is a week end placed favorite for it’s scenery and cool climate. The distance Sukabumi which is 105 kilometers from Jakarta and 95 kilometers from Bandung lies at  the slope of Mount Gede. This cool city, with a temperature of 20⁰ to 30⁰ Celsius, could easily reached by car or bus. Sukabumi is also well known for it’s traditional shows, such as Dog-dog loyor, Jipeng, tutunggulan, calung and pantun, in the performance of which the angklung (a Sundanese traditional musical instrument), is played. 

It is famous as the source of marble. We could buy interesting crafts made of marble such as bangles, ashtrays and numerous egg shaped decoration in various colors. We could enjoy not only the mountainous areas with fresh and clear water, the charm of the blue sea with it’s warm tropical sunlight. The roaring waves breaking on the beach remind us of the legend of the Queen of the Southern Ocean, the mystery of “Nyai Roro Kidul”. The birds and other animals on Mount Gede and Mount Pangrango always sing to greet the sun rising on the horizon, in addition this beauty is harmoniously integrated in the various arts and dynamic dances and is complimented by the friendliness of native people of Sukabumi and it’s surroundings.

Also this city is a transit place to other tourism and Tour Adventure objects in Sukabumi regions such as Salabintana, Sukaraja, the Queen Coast, etc. Have you ever read or hear about the legend of “Nyai Roro Kidul” ? Believe it or not, it’s the mysterious  legend. Now we are to explore there together.

Cikaso waterfall

The Cikaso Waterfall is a dramatic waterfall on the Cikaso River in Western Java. Also the Cikaso waterfall is on the Cikaso River, which originates in North Sukabumi and flows south to the Surade District in South Sukabumi. It lies in the Ujung tourist area between Jampang Kulon and Surade. The waterfalls have a height of almost 80 metres (260 ft), with three parallel drops along cliffs that are about 100 feet (30 m) wide. The falls are accessible from the Ciniti, Cibitung village in the Cibitung Kulon sub-Jampang. They can be reached by foot or by motor boat.

Salabintana

Salabintana is a recreational garden with panorama of plantations and tourism and adventure forest. Just 7 kilometers distance from Sukabumi city. This garden provides Swimming pool, Tenis Court, Golf Course and the Camping Ground. Also Salabintana have star hotel, Bungalow, Restaurant with have large choice of menus, bar, souvenirs shop and multipurpose building Salabintana recreational garden become one with Pangrango recreational garden and both have the same facilities. Highway to the Salabintana is in perfect condition and public transportation is available directly from the center of Sukabumi city.

The Rafting

Rafting along Citarik River through the beautiful and green view, hills, rough water and very fantastic journey.

Perbawati Camping Ground

It’s cover an area of 6 hectares, lies 5 kilometers from the town center to the north. It’s good for camping and recreational purpose.

Warnasari Recreation Park

There is another recreation park at Warnasari, 9 kilometers from Sukabumi on the road through to the Perbawati tea plantations. The park is very large and is suitable for hiking and enjoying the beautiful scenery and lush vegetation. There is accommodation and a restaurant available.

The Queen Harbor

The Queen Harbor known as “Pelabuhan Ratu”, on the shoreline at the South of West Java. The Queen Harbor is likely closely tighten to the legend of The Queen of South Sea – “Nyai Roro Kidul”. Pelabuhan Ratu is a bay coast with unique beauty, enchanted by the harmonious scenery of steep and slipping beaches, steep cliffs, roaring waves breaking on the beach and reserved forest. The visitors could be enjoy the warmth of the tropical sunlight and at the same time the beautiful sea with it’s rolling waves pounding the cliffs.

We couldn’t  swim in this area wherever we want it. Some areas are marked as dangerous due to the strong underwater current. Stick to the safe areas, or simply lie down by the Beach and relax since the place is considered quite. Accommodation and restaurants are easy to find, and we practically do not need to make advance booking. The legend has it that South Coast of Java is “The Realm of Nyai Roro Kidul,” The Queen of South Sea of Java Island. People still believe you should not wear anything in green, since this is her color, or else you will be swept away and become one of her servants.

Many people believe that the most beautiful queen is the ruler of South Sea. When there is a victim sinken swollen by the south sea wave, it is always connected to the queen conduct that she is recruiting human being to add the member of her guardians if the victim is a woman. Or anybody can be sacrificed because of saying dirty word or unwanted conduct during he or she entering the territory under the queen’s rule.To make it a more horrible legend, Beach Hotel, a four stars hotel at the Pelabuhan Ratu Beach, provides specific room for this beautiful queen. This room is not to be rented to whomsoever, except for the queen. Of course she doesn’t pay the room rate when she stayed there. While for the queen meals such as breakfast, lunch and dinner she is served with fruits and flowers prepared and change everyday.

The Queen Harbor Beach itself is a fascinating beach with sea natural panorama, and the uniqueness of the multi-shaped coral reefs around the beach. This beach situated 65 kilometers from Sukabumi city.A popular beach resort on Java’s rugged south coast, where wooded hills reach almost as far as the shoreline. The beach is a short drive away from the fishermen’s village of the same name, where auctions are held every morning. A little further to the west is the rocky beach of Karang Hawu.

Karang Hawu :Karang Hawu Beach is not far from Pelabuhan Ratu Beach. It is around 73 kilometers from the city of Sukabumi. Karang Hawu is a beach with a cliff has some hotels in it. Behind the line of the beach loom the hills with dense forest.
