Strategically
and easily located accessible particularly from Jakarta. Lampung with the

cocoa and rice. Tobacco growing area is around the Lake of Ranu on northern
part of Lampung.
It is known that
Lampung was inhabited since prehistoric time. This proven by the discovery of
cultural relics in the form of megalitic sculptures at Kebontebu, Kenali,
Pugung and Batubedil. There are historical remains showing that Lampung was
under the Indonesia’s greatest Maritime Empire Sriwijaya. The stone
inscriptions of “Palas Pasemah” and Batubedil” in South Lampung are among of
relics of it’s kingdom on 7th century. The influence of Moslem is
seem frm “Tambra Prasasti” inscription containing contract of merchandise
between the kingdom of Banten and Lampung.
Bandar Lampung is the capital city of
Lampung Province, located right next to the beautiful landscape of Lampung Bay.
For the travelers, Bandar Lampung is a transit city connecting Java and all
provinces of Sumatera. Bandar Lampung is accessible both by air and land.

Bandar Lampung

Traditional
Costumes
Lampung is known as
produsen of Tapis cloth that made of the elegant golden woven cloth.The Tapis
cloth is unique traditional costume from Lampung. The men from "Sang Bumi" (The popular name of
Lampung) wear Kikat (head cloth), Celancu (trouser), Sarong Songket, and
Keris.The women wear a vest, sarong, and completed by belt and Pending
(broach). They put on hair bun that stabbed by wire flower.
Museum of Lampung
Museum of Lampung.
Museum of Lampung located at Jalan Teuku Umar, could be reached within 15
minutes from the center of Bandar Lampung. Contents ethnographic and
archaeological collections, Chinese ceramics, tradititonal music instruments,
ancient Tapis cloth and ornaments.The Lampung Museum keeps the historical
objects from the ancestors of the Lampung people. In this museum, the ancient
objects such as ceramics inheritance of China and Siam, and the household
equipments from the past century were kept. It is opened for public every
working day, from Monday until Saturday.The Cultural Center of the Art Center
in this museum also performs classical music and Lampung traditional dance on
certain days.
Way Kambas Reserve
Elephant Training Center
Elephant
Training Center. Elephant training center in Way Kambas is an international
project which partly funded by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF). The aim of
training is to make the captured elephant to be useful for mankind. Most of the
elephants now in training program and
visitors come to Way Kambas to see the training center and have opportunity to
ride elephants. Simple tourist facilities are available here
such as lodging, wooden house on poles, river boat and observation center. Way
Kambas is easily accessible by car from Bandar Lampung.
Educational Site of Tirtosani
Considering the
numerous flora, fauna and the existence of a cave from the era of Japanese
occupation in Indonesia, the government planned Tirtosani Village as the
educational site for public, especially students, common people even
researchers. It is also commonly called Hutan Monyet (Monkey Forest) for
the number of monkey living around the location.The number of rare species of
long-tailed monkey (Macaca Facilularia) which settles the location is
approximately 300 populations. Moreover, here you can see Raflesia Arnoldi
flower (Amorphopallus Titanum Becc) that is only found in Lampung. Each
tree growing up in the location is given a name to provide supporting
facilities for easier research for botanist likewise common people or students.

Tirtosani is located in Tirtosani Village, Sumur Batu Sub-district, North Teluk
Betung District, Bandar Lampung City, Lampung Province.As the location is near
to the crowded city, educational site of Tirtosani can be easily accessed by
any public transportation.
Pekon Hujung Village
Pekon Hujung is a village situated in
the slope of Mount Pesagi which has typical architecture of
West Lampung District. Its nature, culture, and traditional architecture are
the enticements for tourists. Since 2005, the village was planned as one of
tourism destinations in Lampung Province. Thus, the local government
refurbished the access to the location so that it can be accessed by car.
Moreover, the local government also planned to build some guesthouses for
visitors who want to take rest around the location for several days more. Pekon
Hujung is located in Belalau Sub-district, West Lampung District, Lampung
Province, Indonesia.
Ranau Lake
Ranau Lake is the widest
one in South Sumatera. It is around 8x16 km2 in width with the
scene of Mount Semiung on its behind. It is also surrounded by hills and
valleys. Moreover, its water is so clear. The lake is a result of a natural
process. It comes from an earthquake and volcanic explosion that created huge
shale. A stream from the Mount Semiung later empties to this shale that turned
it to a lake. There is natural hot water at the feet of
Mount Semiung, which comes from the bottom of the lake. A waterfall, the Subik,
can also be seen around the lake.Lake Ranau locates on the border of the District of West Lampung, the
Province of Lampung.
The lake can be
threaded with private car from Bandar Lampung through Kemuning and Liwa Hills.
The road is already asphalted yet it curves all the way, at the border of the
District of OKU precisely (on the southern part of South Sumatera Province and
West Lampung District, Lampung Province). People can also reach the site with
different routes. It is more or less 324 km from the city of Palembang, around
130 km from the city of Baturaja, and 50 km from Muara Dua.
Way Gelang Beach
The shoreline span that

Bukit Barisan National Park
The area of Barisan
Selatan Hill National Park is inhabited by tens kinds of forest bats, various
kinds of rare animals and also various kinds of plants in the world (based on
information from UNESCO). This forest area is located in Lampung and Bengkulu,
where the data of the species have been taken. There are kinds of plants, such
as beach-tree (Sonneratia sp.), nipah (Nypa fruticans),
sea fir tree (Casuarina equisetifolia), pandan (Pandanus sp.),
gardenia (Michelia champaka), meranti (Shorea sp.), mersawa
(Anisoptera curtisii), ramin (Gonystylus bancanus), keruing
(Dipterocarpus sp.), resin (Agathis sp.), rattan (Calamus sp.),
and rafflesia flower (Rafflesia arnoldi). Besides, there are also many
kinds of animals, for instance 118 kinds of mammals, 7 kinds of primates, 425
birds, 9 kinds of rangkong, 91 kinds of reptiles and amphibians, and 51
kinds of fish, honey bear, Sumateran rhinoceros, Sumateran tigers, Sumateran
elephants, etc.

visitors can explore the forest, swim, row a small boat, watch the flowers
inside the forest, go camping, and go along the river.
The plants, which become
special character of this national park, are tall and long Amorphophalus
flowers (Amorphophalus decus-silvae), giant Amorphophalus flowers (A. titanum),
and giant orchids (Grammatophylum speciosum). The height of tall and long
Amorphophalus flower can reach more than 2 meters. This forest location includes Tanggamus, West Lampung,
and Bengkulu Districts.
