from Jakarta and Bali. Scheduled flights serve almost all the major cities in

Garuda Indonesia airlines connects Jakarta with almost all the
provincial capitals together with it’s sister company, Merpati Nusantara Air
Lines (MNA). The later links not only the provincial capitals with each other,
but also provides services to even some of the remotes areas. In addition, a

the recent addition of a number of comfortable liners, the state owned sea
liner PT. Pelni now provides an alternative to air travel for those who prefer
by sea. Pelni at present serves 30 ports in 20 of the country’s 30 provinces.
Some Indonesia’s destinations are also popular ports at call for international
cruising ships.Railway services are found on Java and Sumatera. Java boasts
several services, some of them airconditioned, to link all the major points on the island. Inter-city buses and
hire cars are other alternatives, and most of the leading tour and travel
agencies operate their own overland bus services.
